The popular teen pop duo, Aly & AJ performed at the food festival Taste of Chicago, July 6.
The duo consist of the two actresses, singer-songwriters and sisters, Alyson Renae Michalka, called Aly, and Amanda Joy Michalka, called AJ.
The two sisters are both Christian and their song Never Far Behind, was only released on the Christian rock radio station. However, Aly & AJ doesn’t want to be labeled as a Christian band, instead they want their music to be inspiring, from a Christian perspective.
The food festival, Taste of Chicago, is the largest food festival in the world and is held annually. The festival starts on Friday, before 4th of July, and ends 10 days later. The festival attracts millions of people, from Chicago and around the world.
Aly & AJ did their performance, on the festival’s last day.
On July 10 2007, Aly & Aj released their latest album, Insomniatic, which contains the song Potential Breakup Song. That song has been called one of the best songs in 2007, by the Time Magazine. The next studio album, from Aly & Aj, is supposed to be released in 2009 and that album will have a more rockier sound.
